London Met launches new research on COVID-19 in the community

The study will look at people’s experiences of the lockdown measures and their impact on individuals and communities.

Researchers at London Metropolitan University are looking for volunteers from the London boroughs of Islington and Haringey to take part in a new study looking into the impact of the lockdown measures at the community level. Volunteers will be invited to complete an online survey and a follow-up telephone interview on their experiences of the quarantine and isolation.

As part of the University’s research work with Whittington Hospital, Dr Stephen Hills (Guildhall School of Business and Law) and Dr Yolanda Eraso (School of Social Professions) are leading on a study into peoples’ perceptions, behaviours and experiences of social distancing and self-isolation measures.

The results will help us understand the barriers and facilitators of lockdown measures on individuals and local communities, identify which groups are most vulnerable, and better understand the support that is needed. The results of the study could provide valuable information for local policymakers.
